TTW developed an innovative design for a Catholic Primary School built in Sydney, Australia, in 2018. A full storey depth steel Vierendeel truss system was designed to support the glulam beams in order to solve the large column free zone issues.
The assembly area required this open space but the floor to floor height was limited by the height of the existing building levels, these required matching in the final design.
